David Winter writes in his Introduction:

Message for the Millennium explores and reflects on teaching of Jesus as we find it in the Gospels. There can surely be no better way to celebrate the profound impact of that teaching on the human race over the past 2000 years than to examine it afresh.

'Many people who know the stories of the miracles of Jesus, and of his death and resurrection, are nevertheless largely ignorant of what he actually taught. So the wisdom and challenge of his ethical, moral and spiritual teaching are lost, even to many of those who claim to be his closest followers.

Message for the Millennium presents those teachings in the form of forty daily readings, with explanatory background and reflective material designed to make them accessible to the modern reader.

'.No teaching in history has more profoundly influenced the human race than the words of Jesus of Nazareth, a man who never wrote a book and had no formal status as a religious teacher. It is teaching to inspire and challenge. It turned the Roman Empire upside-down, and it's been turning people and societies upside-down ever since.'

Message for the Millennium explores the teaching of Jesus in forty themes, with Bible readings, comments and prayers.Material is also included for six group meetings.
